Prepared to make its debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2011 Mustang V6 is built around a 3.7-liter DOHC Ti-VCT V6. The V6 engine will offer drivers 305 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 95 hp and 40 lb-ft over the previous-generation SOHC 4.0-liter V6. The new ‘Stang will also get up to 30 mpg.

In addition to the new engine, Ford announced that all future Mustangs will benefit from a six-speed transmission in automatic or manual. The transmission promises to deliver a significant boost in efficiency.

Additional changes include dual exhaust, revised suspension, Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system and larger disc brakes. The aesthetic of the V6 Mustang has received a small makeover with such changes as new front fascia and taller air dam. [via LeftLaneNews]
