Ford to Offer In-Car WiFi
By Chris WeissLast week, we got a sneak peek of Ford’s upcoming Sync apps, and today the automaker has put WiFi on the table. Just like Chevy last week, Ford has announced the introduction of vehicular WiFi, which will be integrated into next-generation Sync systems. Connection will be made via a mobile broadband modem popped into the Sync’s USB port. The system will create a WiFi hot spot throughout the car, allowing all passengers to browse the Web.
Users will have to supply their own modem, but the WiFi capabilities will be integrated directly into Sync systems without any need for upgraded hardware or subscription services, unlike the Chevy WiFi which will run $30/month. [via Jalopnik]
