2011 Mustang GT Ford Mustang GT: 5.0 Liters, 26 MPG

The return of the legendary 5.0-liter V8 hasn’t put much of a damper on Ford’s efficiency numbers. In fact, the numbers are better than anticipated. Ford predicted 25 mpg highway and got a 26 mpg when the EPA finished handed over its results. City driving tested at 17 mpg. That’s with the six-speed manual transmission; automatic shifting will cost you a mile per gallon on the highway, but will bring one back in the city (25/18 mpg).

After many whispers and speculation on the return of the 5.0, Ford unveiled the new Mustang GT at the Detroit Auto Show. In addition to its newly vetted efficiency, the GT delivers 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. [via LeftLaneNews]
