Fisker To Open a Plant in U.S. For Its Second Release

The Finland-built Fisker Karma is set to turn the world of plug-in hybrids on end when it hits roads next year. Proving that you don’t have to sacrifice beauty, elegance or performance to go electric, the Karma will provide the best of all worlds. And Fisker’s next car will bring all that with a “Made in the USA” sticker. The California-based company will open up a North American plant to produce its second car– a more economical, mid-sized plug-in hybrid sedan scheduled to start production in 2012. Fisker has chosen its plant, but has not made the final purchase or announcement. Speculation is that it could be the old GM plant in Wilmington, Delaware, and the official announcement is expected today. Production for the new plant is cited at over 100,000 units per year.
