Ferrari Investigating 458 Fires

If you spend any time ogling cars on the Interwebs, then you’ve probably seen a picture or two of a Ferrari 458 on fire. Like this one. According to the BBC, you’ve had 10 opportunities, because that’s how many of the Ferraris have caught fire–from California to China. And that’s just this summer.
Well, you, me and every other person with an ounce of common sense aren’t the only ones thinking that’s a little odd. Ferrari is right there with us, and today it issued a statement that it will be investigating the fires.
Without going into much detail, Maranello said: “The company is currently investigating the particular incidents in which cars have apparently been involved in a vehicle fire, and it is currently treating these as separate incidents. Until these investigations are complete, Ferrari is unable to provide any further comment.” [via Autocar and BBC]
