The captivating beauty above is a rendering of the e-2 supercar from German firm E-Wolf. The electric supercar concept is one of two EVs from the firm.  The e-1 roadster and e-2  construction centers on extremely lightweight carbon fiber structure, which has provided a total chassis weight of just 1,102 lbs for the e-1 and an expected 2,000-lb weight for the upcoming e-2. Unfortunately for many, the lightweight chassis intentions of the e-1 also extend to its drivers, as only those 150 pounds or less will be able to man it–a stipulation that will likely put it out of the reach of many that covet it. In addition to intense concentration on weight, the e-1 utilizes a 150 hp AC induction engine that puts out 185 lb-ft of torque, and a number of lithium ion batteries to provide the power. Performance figures are 0 to 62 in under 5 seconds and a top out of 143 mph. Before you drop the 150, 000 Euros for the e-1, which is already available for purchase, you should know that E-Wolf intends its e-2 to compete in circles with supercars of Ferrari caliber and will be using four electric motors for a total of 544 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque. The e-2 is expected in 2011. [via Motor Authority]
