2010 Hyundai Elantra Competitors Offer Toyota Owners Incentives

Throwing a little salt into Toyota’s festering wounds, a number of other automakers are offering incentives aimed at luring Toyota owners into a trade. GM, Ford, Chrysler and Hyundai have all crafted incentive programs for Toyota owners. The magic number seems to be $1,000.

  • Chrysler offers $1,000 trade-in cash bonus for Toyota Tundra, Tacoma and Sienna owners who purchase or lease a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram
  • Hyundai offers $1,000 bonus to Toyota owners on Elantra, Elantra Touring and Sonata
  • GM offers a $1,000 off cash purchase, 0 percent financing (up to 60 months) for qualifying customers or waiver of three payments on a lease (up to $1,000). GM’s promotion lasts for the entire month of February and applies to GMC, Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles. It is aimed at Toyota and Lexus owners.
  • Ford offers $1,000 trade-in cash on Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. Ford’s program is aimed at Honda and Acura owners as well as Toyota, Scion and Lexus owners. Honda issued a recall of its own last week.
