Chrysler and Fiat Developing Electric Car

Chrysler board member Alfredo Altavilla was recently sourced by the Wall Street Journal as confirming that Chrysler and Fiat have an electric car in the works. No further comment was provided on the details of the joint EV program, but it will presumably help to further develop work done under Chrysler’s ENVI line of vehicles, which includes the Dodge Circuit EV, Jeep Patriot EV (pictured), Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV and Chrysler Town & Country EV. Each car in the line offers a 150- to 200- mile driving range. No Chrysler EV has hit the road yet, but one is supposed to be offered in the market by the end of this year. We’ll see if an Italian version follows in the years to come. [via AutoBlog]
