Paul Hutton British Guy Loses His License for Drunk Driving a Barbie Car

Usually when you say in a sarcastic tone “that guy’s a real rocket scientist,” there’s no truth to it whatsoever. But in the case of Paul Hutton, a former RAF aeronautical engineer, you could say it both sarcastically and seriously and be correct on both accounts.

Hutton, a 40-year-old Essex resident and father of four, recently lost his license after he was pulled over driving a Barbie car at twice the legal limit of alcohol. He received a three-year ban because this was his second offense in 10 years.

As for why Hutton was joy riding in a Barbie car, he is currently studying electrical engineering and was working on the car as part of a project with his son. He couldn’t resist the chance to take it for a ride after completing it, apparently while hitting the sauce pretty hard all the while.

Of the sentence, Hutton said: “”I was very surprised to get done for drink-driving but I was a twit to say the least.” We’re still sticking with ‘rocket scientist.’ [Telegraph via Carscoop]

    Why am I not surprised???

The only thing that did surprise me was that the story did not originate here in America!
We want to lock people down from behaving in any way other than that which models some un-realistic robotic model of Ken and Barbie loftiness.

Dr. Kavorkian , I think I'm ready to check out now :)

He wouldn't have lost his licence if he hadn't also had a prior drunk-driving conviction – the sentence is the mandatory minimum for two drunk-driving offences in ten years.
