BRABUS Ultimate High Voltage Concept

Based on the smart fortwo, the BRABUS Ultimate High Voltage concept is an electric vehicle powered by a lithium-ion battery and electric motors co-developed with Tesla. The car hits 0 to 62 mph in 9.8 seconds and 0 to 60 km/h (38.5 mph) in 3.7 seconds. In order to achieve these respectable performance numbers, BRABUS has kept the weight down and gotten 82 horses and around 206.5 lb-ft of peak torque at 0 rpm out of its powertrain. An electric car that looks like this one doesn’t really need to sound like a muscle car, but in case you want it to, BRABUS has equipped the High Voltage with a sound generator that mimics the sounds of V8s and racing cars. On the exterior, BRABUS has included some interesting features such as LED daytime running lamps, Widestar side skirts and 18-inch wheels with clear Plexiglas covers. [via WCF]
