BMW is expanding the engine options for its X1. An entry level four-cylinder and six-cylinder engine will add two new options, making for a total of three gas and three diesel X1 variants.

The four-cylinder version, called the X1 sDrive18i, will offer 150 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque with its 2.0-liter gas four. With a six-speed manual transmission, the four-cylinder X1 makes it to 62 in 9.7 seconds and tops out at 125 mph.

The new petrol six-cylinder variant, slotted in the line-up as the X1 xDrive25i, delivers 218 hp and 204 lb-ft. It provides a 7.9-second 0 to 62 and 138-mph top speed when equipped with xDrive AWD and six-speed automatic.
