Transferring the smoothness, power and performance of its six-cylinder engines to its motorcycle stock, BMW is introducing the Concept 6 bike at the EICMA Show in Milan. The new concept uses a lighter, shaved-down mill that is 4 inches trimmer than the standard six-cylinder. The engine is mounted in-line with the cylinders titled toward the front by 55 degrees.

Power output is said to be in the range of BMW’s 1.3-liter straight-four bikes, but the torque is at the top of the class at 96 lb-ft at 2,000 rpm. The bike can push close to 9,000 rpm, so there’ll be plenty of stored power and torque available. The concept is expected to make its way into production as a touring bike within the K-series.
