BMW Officializes Details of U.S. MINI Countryman
By Chris Weiss
After some pictures of the Mini Countryman leaked two days ago, BMW has issued a press release with the full details. The U.S. version of Mini’s crossover will get two engine choices: a 1.6-liter 120 hp four cylinder and a 1.6-liter 180 hp four cylinder benefiting from direct injection and twin-scroll turbocharger. The latter will be featured in the Cooper S Countryman, which will also feature ALL4 all-wheel drive. Standard six-speed manual and optional automatic transmissions will be available for both versions.
The standard Countryman will roll to 62 mph in 10.5 seconds and will top out at an electronically-limited 118 mph, while the Cooper S variant will hit 62 in 7.6 seconds and will have a top speed of 128 mph.
The Countryman will land in the U.S. early next year. [via egmCarTech]
