BMW Brings Upgrades to the 2011 135i
By Chris Weiss
BMW has confirmed that it will be upgrading the 2011 135i with a new engine and other modifications. It’s out with the old 3.0-liter twin turbo six-cylinder and in with a new twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. Doesn’t sound like much of a difference does it? Arguing for that point is the fact that both engines weigh in with 300 horses and 300 lb-ft. However, according to BMW, the new engine will boost fuel efficiency and increase throttle response. Peak torque is also reached 100 rpm earlier with the new engine.
The 135i will also get the option of seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with dedicated paddles for upshifting and downshifting. The sound system is upgraded with Harman Kardon Surround Sound.
