Black Friday Declared The Best Day of the Year to Buy a Car
By Chris WeissThis Black Friday won’t just be the day to race to the store and fight your way toward deals on toys and gifts for all the greedy little paws on your holiday shopping list; it’ll also be a good time to shop for a new means of racing to the store. According to an article on CNN Money, Black Friday will offer car buyers the best deals of the year.
The article cites research done by the website Truecar.com, which analyzed price data from the past several years and came to the unsurprising conclusion that Black Friday offers the lowest prices. Data indicates that the average day-after-Thanksgiving discount will be 7.5%–compared to a 4.7% year average and 6% on the Saturday following Black Friday. Dealer discounts and manufacturer incentives have historically helped to bring prices to the year-low mark.
Some cars are expected to see extra large discounts–the 2009 Suzuki SX4 is projected at a 28% drop, while the 2009 Nissan Titan will enjoy a 26 % discount.
