Bentley Mulsanne--Far From Entry Level

The words “entry level” and “Bentley” don’t exactly harmoniously mesh. Indeed, if Bentley does actually follow through on reports that indicate it will be producing two such models,  they’ll likely be reserved for “entry-level” millionaires.

Regardless, rumors are that Bentley is working on a pair of cars that will fall neatly below the Continental on the price/prestige scale. Production could begin in 2014.

Codenamed NCB–New Compact Bentley–there is one two-door shooting brake and one four-door crossover in the works.  The cars are likely to be based on the next-gen Audi A6/A7 platform and are expected to derive momentum from a V8 engine. Prices are speculated in the $110,000 to $130,00 range.

Not sure anyone wants to envision a Bentley crossover, but start preparing for it. [via LeftLaneNews]
