Bentley Details the 2011 Mulsanne
By Chris Weiss
Bentley has issued the full spec list on its upcoming Mulsanne sedan. The large-bodied sedan is thrust forward by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 engine that channels 505 horses and 752 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed ZF transmission and onto the rear wheels. While that set-up might be more than enough to break the four-second barrier if outfitted on a light-bodied sports coupe, the Mulsanne’s 5,700 pounds slow the 0 to 60 mph figure down to 5.1 seconds–still nothing to complain about. The big boy gets all the way up to 184 mph before reaching its limit.
Inside, Bentley keeps drivers and passengers cozy and engaged with hand-selected leather, 12-way electrical front seats, infotainment system with 8-inch color screen, glove-box mounted 60 GB hard drive, voice control, 14-speaker audio system with satellite or digital radio, four-zone air conditioning, leather-bound carpet, polished stainless steel, and inverted, aviation-style dials.
