Audi e-Tron Electric Concept Hits the Production Lines
By Alex Ion
Did the Audi E-Tron Concept capture your attention at the Frankfurt Motor Show? If so, we’ve got some good news. Two weeks after the German auto show, company sources have announced that the R8-looking e-Tron is going to hit production lines soon and should be on the road in about 24 months.
For those who can’t remember it, the new two-seater is powered by four electric motors (one for each axle) that draw their juice from a 213kg lithium-ion battery pack hidden in the back. Audi says that the e-Tron outputs 313 horsepower and a good 4,500Nm peak torque, which helps it reach 60mph in just 4.8 seconds on its way to a 124 mph top end. As for the range, on a full charge the new Audi e-Tron should boast a 154 mile autonomy. [AutoWeek via WCF]
