Atomik Adds Electricity to the Fiat Abarth 500
Mar 17, 2010 - By Chris Weiss
The United States may get the new Fiat 500 first, but Europe gets the last laugh with this sweet electrified Abarth 500. French firm Atomik has added two electric motors to the Fiat Abarth 500, adding 300 hp in an all-wheel drive configuration. The motors are powered by a lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) battery pack. Other modifications include the grille-less front end, which makes the Abarth look a little like a kidnap victim, and side cooling intakes. Also, an oddball moon-themed photo shoot.
The Fiat now scoots to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds.
The Atomik Abarth will debut at the 2010 Top Marques Monaco show on April 15. It will see limited production of 50 models. [via Inside Line]
