Wow, this commercial just set the women’s movement back about 50 years. In a brief spot for Pittsburgh-area “Jim Shorkey Kia/Suzuki,” Katie Shorkey–not sure if she’s a wife or daughter–tries to appeal to women with this piece of wisdom: “Buying a car can be a scary experience–especially if you’re a woman.” Yes, reading, research and negotiation certainly require straying a little farther out of the kitchen and bedroom than the women-folk are used to. Thanks for being there for them, Jim Shorkey!
Perhaps what Ms. Shorkey should have said was: “Buying a car can be a scary experience–especially when you’re the brainless but attractive wife of a typical used car sleaze.” [via Jezebel]
