Additional Leaking Details on Ford’s Upcoming Mustang 5.0
By Chris WeissFord still ain’t doing a whole lot of official talking about the return of its legendary 5.0-liter Mustang V8 engine, but some voices in the company sure are. Last week, a leak brought us the satisfying news that Ford would be bringing the 5.0 back into the line-up, and some follow-up leaks have offered more information on the new engine option.
The engine will feature four valves per cylinder and twin independent variable valve timing. Also a part of the package, drivers will benefit from tuned exhaust headers, forged steel crankshaft, and high-performance pistons and connecting rods. 25 mpg is being circulated as potential fuel economy. All that engine will be paired with choice of six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions.
We’ll get to see this one for real at Detroit. [via Motor Authority]
