Confirming the rumors, the new 2012 Infiniti M35 hybrid has been officially approved for production. Still part of the luxury performance sedan lineup at Infiniti, the vehicle still appeals to the green minded as it’s going to be the company’s “cleanest and most economical car” ever.  Specs wise, the Infiniti M35 hybrid features a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine and an electric motor that acts both as a propulsion unit to boost the V6 in “power assist” mode, but also as a generator for the “laminated” lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery pack. On top of that, the hybrid system also allows the motor to recover energy during deceleration and braking. No word on range, performance or transmission details, but existing details suggest that the new Infiniti M35 hybrid is expected to arrive early 2011. [via MotorAuthority]
