2011 Mustang GT Brings Back the 5.0-Liter V8

By

Trying to keep corporate secrets in the age of email, texting and social media is a bit like trying to keep a hungry tiger from devouring the pound of raw beef that you threw into the corner of his pen. Just ask Ford. The blue oval tried itsĀ  best to keep the exciting news about the return of the 5.0-liter V8 to the 2011 Mustang GT under wraps until it was ready to make a proper announcement. But now we all know, and Ford hasn’t made any such announcement.

We have Facebook to thank for that. One user let the news slip and now we’re all looking forward to a .5.0-liter V8-powered 2011 Mustang GT which will stock 412 horses under its belt. We’ll throw Ford a bone and let them spin the rest of the story. [via AutoBlog]

5.0-liter V8-powered 2011 Mustang GT wow! I am sure this will be a favorite for some of the romantics out there, but in reality a V8 in a time where "green" is fashionable, and also necessary, is not making sense to me. I have to wonder what Ford is actually trying to achieve in market shares, particularly , when we consider the significant growth in consumer confidence with vehicles such as Toyota's Prius, and similar efficient, well design vehicles that use significantly less fuel and are equally as comfortable to drive.

    Apologies to Ford Mustang followers!!!!

Consumers are just beginning to gain confidence following two years of uncertainty in global economics and although extravagance still surrounds Western countries this just appears too much of an extreme use of our precious fuel, not least the impact such a car may have on the already damaged environment.
