2010 Audi A3 TDI to Cost Only $9k More than the 2010 VW Golf TDI

Starting this November, both the 2010 Audi A3 TDI and the 2010 Volkswagen Golf TDI will be available with clean diesel engines that will please the green minded. To maintain competitive, Audi has priced its Audi A3 TDI starting at $30,775, which is only $9,000 higher than the $21,990 for the VW Golf. Both cars feature the same platform, the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that sports 140hp and 236 foot pounds of torque and even get the same the same gas mileage (30 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway).
